genre:pop rock
Teenage dirtbag is about a boy who didn't have any friends but he really liked this one popular girl but she has a boyfriend who isn't a good person
The song Teenage Dirtbag was sang by Wheatus and released in 2000. This song is about a boy who really liked this one girl in his school but she had a boyfriend who wasn't a good person. He just thinks he's a teenage dirtbag because how he was treated by people at his school, he thought that the girl would never go for someone like him. At a dance she had to tickets to go with him, then they danced and then he woke up and it was all a dream. The main purpose for the music video id to promote the movie and the song in one.
The song Sk8er Boi sang by Averil Lavine released in 2002. The song is actually a story that is telling. It is about a skater boy who really liked a girl who did ballet and was very different to him though she liked him too. But since her friends didn't like him she turned him down. Five years later, she is a single mother.

they reflect it by making it look more punk rock
they show who avril is and what she wears and what she likes
Averil Lavine and her friends are dressed like emos
This is achieved by using emo stuff
this could suggest to the audience that she's emo
In avril lavine's music video it is set in a car park
we know this as we are shown cars
in my opinion the video is set here because they're gangsters
How and Why do the two music videos you have studied use setting and costume effectively?
The music video for Avril Lavine's Sk8er Boi and Wheatus Teenage Dirtbag use setting and costume to achieve similar effects.

LO: to explore how sound and editing are used to create meaning in a music videos
Diegetic and Non-diegetic
diegetic in sk8er boi was was when u heard the spray cans at the start and then at the end u heard the helicopter. they help add realism to the video
Editing
both music videos are linear
the video with the faster pace is sk8er boi and the case is that they're trying to go for a more edgy look.
the video with longer shot length is teenage dirtbag because its a movie
special effects in teenage dirtbag when he went into a dream, the girl who he fancies every time she comes near him its in slow motion
both videos use MES differently, specifically costume. in sk8er boi they dress like emos and in teenage dirtbag they dress very stereotypically.
